The communist leader, Mr. Bhupesh Gupta has declared that his party will not seek any electoral alliance with the Swatantra Party.
He describes the Swatantra Party as reactionary. A certificate from the Communist Party to this effect is a great compliment.
The philosophy of the Communist Party and the way of life it seeks to impose on the people are the most reactionary of all world conceptions. It seeks to subordinate human personality to the will of a minority group in possession of the instruments of violence. Modern civilization's goal is freedom, and full scope for the development of human personality and not its enslavement. Communist policy is the opposite of human civilization.

Everyone knows that the Swatantra Party has never looked upon an alliance with the communists as possible or desirable. This declaration of Mr. Bhupesh Gupta is, therefore, superfluous.
He describes the Swatantra Party as reactionary. A certificate from the Communist Party to this effect is a great compliment. The Prime Minister of India and his party may look upon approbation from the communists as a proof of worthiness. But the Swatantra Party looks upon communist opposition as a guarantee of our sailing in the right direction. The Congress and the Communist Party, both turn their sails to totalitarian enslavement of the people. It is an Oxford boat race between them, and the Congress administration is proceeding fast to its goal. The Swatantra Party opposes this and the word 'reactionary' coming from the communist leader is a recognition of our opposition to communist policy, whether it is directed by the Congress or directly by the communists. Condemnation by communist leaders is a reliable mariner's compass in the reverse to those who stand for freedom.

Men may use the same word with varying imports. 'Reactionary' and 'retrograde' used by the communists indicate opposition to the way they want us to go.
What is reactionary to the communist mind is freedom in the view of progressive humans. What is retrograde to the communists means advance in the language of freedom loving people. Vice versa, what is progress to the Communist Party is advance towards tyranny in the opinion of liberty loving people. The Congress is going that way and is receiving approbation from the communists. Thinking people should beware of this policy conspiracy between the Congress and communism camouflaged by seeming conflict.
